Public Private Parts

Why oh why would anyone want a public hangout – private? This is odd, next we will have to have our privates out in public when doing our private business.

A take-down notice? Pretty serious for an innocuous speech he was trying to make public via a public Google hangout. This sure is a heck of a puzzle. What, by George, is he trying to hide? This was a completely (mostly) unedited and in context video, an anomaly for this site. Why would someone want to hide what they said under no duress? Quite a conundrum.

I said don't look
I said don’t look

Seems to me the public has a right to know why the  beloved Shannon Morse was removed from a program. Seems to me that Father Robert explained eloquently that there was a meeting of the top people at TWiT, probably Padre, Leo, Lisa, and Jeff_N to decide Shannon’s fate. They didn’t think she should be at the meeting which makes total sense; why include her when they had experts at the meeting.

“We sat down and realized we were misusing her.” Uh huh, sure. So they all sat on a couch somewhere and realized they were misusing her. What does that even mean? I reckon they were saving money by firing her and just having a Priest who works free host. A pattern of cost saving that goes back to firing a real editor and replacing him with whoever was around. They wanted her on a show that “specifically fits her talents and her passions.” I guess she is passionate about reviewing Asus keyboards. Great Job with that!

Padre explains why Shannon Morse is No Longer hosting Coding101

By the way, we learned in a previous post, when the eyeballs do a left eye roll a person is accessing his front brain creative lobe. The creative lobe used in lying and not memory recall.

This site is hosted in Europe, or somewhere crazy like that, and if our host makes us take down the video below, we will but we think we have a case why it should stay up. I guess we may as well mention Shannon’s Patreon again. Looks like it will be a success and should close out at a respectable per-show amount.

Now Padre has something to do this weekend. Get that keyboard out and start typing in Scandinavian.

  1. I hope Padre has a clear conscience and goes to confession regularly. He shouldn’t be lying on such a large open public forum.

We should Tweet the Pope and Padre’s local Bishop / Cardinal – this just shows a modern example of how the Catholic Church suppresses free public speech.

It anyone want this taken down it should be TWiT, not a representative of the church.

    1. If you expect the Catholic church to be humble and do the right thing when possible, you’re gonna have a bad time.

I’m not hating on the Christianity aspect of Catholics, but the Catholic organization/people that make it up are extremely out of touch with reality and often do shady things to maintain their wealth and influence. They’ve been doing it for centuries, at all levels – to expect something different just because of scandals a decade ago, that would be a mistake.

I REALLY don’t understand why this guy is even on TWiT – or HOW they met/decided to put him on air to begin with. Something more is going on…it’s pretty bizarre.

  2. You know what, fuck the bullshit.

I’m watching the downfall of Total Drama as we speak; first I’m implicated in emails that I did something I didn’t even do and now this. What the fuck? You let your petty ass shit destroy you even further; you think I’m powerful enough to control the direction of this god damned site? Because that’s what you’re letting yourself believe, that my autistic responses and my lack of defense is the downfall. First a long running Twitter account gets suspended and now this?

It does not matter how many posts you make at this point; you lost. You want to take me down, you want to show dalepoco and WIguy and Side-Of-Fries how truly dispicable I am? Post those alleged emails, admit the truth; because this sideshow act has gone on long enough.

You are basically interfering with my life at this point; if you’re going to back me into a corner that I don’t even belong by influencing my other bans… Well; post those emails.

I will not issue a takedown notice, just post them. Post them!

  3. Google hangouts that Padre does are not CC. You can’t just record something on a hangout and put it up on youtube without the permission of the person who ran the hangout.

Twit puts out its stuff as CC, Padre does what Padre wants. He doesn’t have to do what Twit does.

You have no right to complain about the takedown since you had no right to put the video up.

  4. If you are going to upload video’s I would put them on another site. Youtube is to much trouble. it’s the internet I can record and put anything anywhere I want. Who is going to stop me. Youtube. There is always a way.

    1. I’m nobody, and I have been able to take shit down in a matter of seconds – YT doesnt wait for a defense, they pull it, then ask for the defense.

Guilt before innocence is the YouTube way.

  5. Here’s an idea. Why don’t you create something instead of being a creepy, obsessed stalker of Leo, Padre, et al.

Here’s another idea: If you don’t like TWiT shows, how about you don’t watch them?

Never mind. I guess devoting your life to trolling is a more rational response.

If you take into consideration TWIT’s declining viewership numbers than you’d realize that’s just what IS happening. A lot of TD readers don’t watch as much TWIT content anymore because for a wide range of reasons — myself I find Leo’s misogyny to be disgusting and Lisa’s bizarre management skills to be disappointing. Others take issue with Elgin’s very subdued delivery style or Padre’s fabricated tech/religion persona. Yes it is unfortunate there are a lot of trolls allowed to breed on TD and while you are focusing your disdain only on that aspect, you’re leaving out the more important viewpoint of seeing the ‘Big Picture’. There are numerous revelations that TD has made sure the public is aware of about TWIT, some are legally questionable happenings (Leo’s sexual harassment style), a lot are just examples of obvious moral violations (Lisa’s callous disregard in firing an employee — i.e. how Amber MacArthur was let go.) So focus on the trolls and hate stuff but you’re missing out on the important events.

      1. Sadly Wrongful Termination & Harassment take time and money to prove, dispite video proof etc most TWIT employees just move on and will continue to do that – there’s 10 years of borderline abuse – how many lawsuits?

          » Quote comment

        1. Do you really think that we couldnt search for lawsuits of harassment brought? We wouldnt find any – not even the Kate Botello v TECHTV was public – never went to trial, was settled out of court, so we dont know the outcome, other than no suit was ever filed.

  6. It’s really to bad that Padre feels this shouldn’t be a public video.

    Oh, Well…..

Time to go watch the next episode of TekThing.

I’ll support the podcasters I enjoy by voting with my eyes!

  7. I would think our little parody and satire videos were a fitting document to the slide of TWiT. From way up here to down there.

And that video took hours. Color saturation, overlays, inserting bits of relevant content. Lots of work. Next time we’ll do a puppet show.

Maybe Tech Today with Wooden Gum and Hostage Puppet.

  8. I had to file a takedown once. The guy filed a counter. YouTube releases all your IRL information to the person who filed the takedown. Tell me you didn’t file a counter. If you did, he now has all your information.
