Leo Laporte can’t seem to keep his trap shut about John C. Dvorak.

The wise Dvorak hasn’t been back to TWiT since the banning, and he hasn’t been happy about all the insults (example, example, example, example). Always a man of class, Dvorak never responds in kind.

That doesn’t stop Leo Laporte from mentioning Dvorak at least once a week, however, almost always in a negative light.

In the video above, Leo makes fun of John again, doing his rude impression, and then makes fun of John’s headlines at PCMagazine. Paul Thurrott jokes that all of Dvorak’s current articles are rehashed content from the 1980’s with new product names inserted, and the portly Laporte agrees.

Just get over him, Leo!

    2. Never happen. John is too adult to play Leo’s games, and has far too much class to stoop to that level. What would he benefit from doing that? Get more listeners? Nobody listens to TwiT anymore. John’s doing just fine without Leo, and that’s what chaps Leo ever-growing khaki clad ass – John doesn’t need Leo. At all. Why would he light himself on fire, to keep Leo warm?

      Now, if John lets Adam’s muzzle loose, and sics him on Leo – that could be a lot of good old fashioned fun.

        2. This is the funniest thing I’ve read today. The only thing I would add is that even though Sams is the twink, I’m sure Thurrott is the one getting it from behind. I watched last week’s first ring daily podcast and the way Sams mocks and abuses Thurrott is amazing. There is absolutely no way Thurrott is not bottoming for Sams.

        Read his first Zune review. No other tech journalist shat on that thing as much as Thurrott.

  7. I am sick of listening to Paul because his bullshit is just rehashed Microsoft Lust. The guy is completely biased. He can never admit that Microsoft makes poorly thought out products. He is a follower simply because it draws in income to fuel his life. John C. Dvorak is free range. He doesn’t give a shit and it is refreshing to here the good and bad from all sides. It is impossible to not like John even if you don’t agree with him, which honestly is not very often. Paul and Leo are being complete Hypocrites. Their entire profession is like a record player skipping. The advice and rehash of blogger bob reviews is so old now. I give Paul more credit because he puts more effort into most of his “work”. It still doesn’t mean he is giving quality advice based on his opinion. Paul is best when he just STFU and reports factual data. Leo does neither. He just barfs out whatever he reads elsewhere on the internet and slaps his own ads on it to make a buck.

  9. For such a fat piece of shit, Thurrott has a very thin skin. Mention ANYTHING he doesn’t like and you get banned / blocked by him. I’ve been banned at least 6 times by him now for the flimsiest of reasons.

    As for his writing, well consider how many “Rethinking Windows 8 / 10/ Xbox One / Windows Phone /etc.” articles he has to write due to fucking up and getting everything wrong as usual when a new product is released.

    He is a fucking joke. You would have to be insane to pay money to that clown for rehashed Microsoft PR articles on his shithole of a website.

    Maybe you know the saying, “When you point one finger, there are three fingers pointing back to you.” Jesus had a version of this wisdom when he said, “Don’t focus on the speck in your brother’s eye while ignoring the log in your own eye.”

    The fancy psychoanalytic term for this unconscious process is projective identification. We get rid of the unwanted feelings (projection) and identify them as belonging to someone else (identification). You can call it the shame relocation plan.

I thought Paul was above this type of antics, don’t go along with the soup meister! I wonder if LL threw Paul an extra bone to troll on JCD. What pair of d-bags. WW is the only “netcast” I still download, but if this keeps up, I’ll Have to unsubscribe, it’s becoming a waste of time LL contributes nothing but wheezy laughs and a vailed attempt to show any sort of interest in Microsoft and Windows. Just one man’s opinion.

  18. I haven’t watched anything on twit with Leo in four years. Frankly, I don’t even watch any of the twit programs any more. I used to watch the live feed quite often. I still listen to AAA via pocket casts on my Nexus, but I care less and less as time progresses. Back when this operation was run at the cottage with Dane I actually believed that Twit was on the verge of being something amazing. How naive I was. I check in here periodically to remind myself to not be so foolish and unobservant.

  19. I always laugh when guys like Paul takes shots at guys like JCD who paved the way and established a way to make a living for Paul. How disrespectful to do. I only hear Paul on the “What the Tech” podcast and genuinely enjoy him on that.

    I went on Twitter to respectfully say I didn’t like him taking a cheap shot at JCD, only to find that at some point he blocked me. He must be that thin skinned where I must have disagreed with a Windows comment he said, he blocked me.

    It shows how both he and Mary Jo’s careers are going if they take some fat sexual deviant’s disregard for their show by showing up late (or not at all), and piss on their work along the way. Both are whores who sadly look at WW as their only payday from any of their work. Then again, THEIR rehashing of PR notices from MS I’m sure has a couple checks or cash paperclipped to them from MS.

  23. One doesn’t have to oversell JCD to justify complaining about Leo’s comments. JCD says plenty of idiotic things. We don’t need to put people on one side or the other.

    I think a broadcaster should absolutely demonstrate some class and avoid petty remarks. Even if justified, there will be many who disagree, and many others who will be all too eager to use those comments against you. It’s just never the smart thing to do.

  29. I have not been subscribed to any TWIT podcasts for over a year and half and I have to say my mental health is better. JCD is a lovable curmudgeon who brings interesting points into his work. He provides generic but useful information in his articles.

    Leo Laporte’s ‘product’ is now a washed-out shade of the tech-news coverage he was doing around the time of the brickhouse opening. Of course, that could be because Leo has run through all the interesting people he brought onto his shows in the early days.

    1. In my early and mid 20’s I got into TWIT because my brother had it on when he would do homework. Concurrently at the time I got heavy into a heavy meth addiction and all I could watch was TWIT and now I think I know why and it wasn’t becuz the shows had good content. TV shows and movies have screenplays / plots that need to be payed attention to be continuously entertained by. TWIT doesn’t possess any of this and during my great depression (3 years) on drugs the netcast network became simply white noise to escape from anything that was going on in my head. When I wake up from my daze at any hour and felt that I’m no better from listening even at times of clarity. I was like “hmmm I wouldn’t have learned shit if I payed attention because the network is shit ese.” (Imma Mexican)

  31. I cut out subscribing to twit a couple of years ago but still listened to the live feed. That dropped to 10 minute intervals 2 or 3 times a day. I am now down to zero. There are great podcasts out there and I include the No Agenda show amongst them, TWiT got real bad.

      I just listened to Gum after reading that and was laughing, at this comment I quoted. If you play it, it does sounds like someone never hung up after leaving a voicemail and was being recorded unknowingly babbling.

      I also just put twit live on for first in months and TNT end-of-show asked people to sign up for “flashes” on Amazon Echo. A new ratings scheme? Why care?
