Total Drama Tipster Provides On-Site Recon of Possible New Studio Location

Guest SubmissionA Total Drama tipster visited our chat room to pass on pictures he or she took of the potential new TWiT studio.

Thank you, anonymous contributor.

All of TWiT is going to be crammed in there, if expert negotiator Lisa Kentzell Laporte is able to secure a lease.

How do you think TWiT will fare in the new location?

  1. There is no new studio. The lease is up at the end of March. Leo will make up an excuse and them “temporarily” move twit to his home studio.

It’s like when he said he was taking the bricks with him until he told the truth. Or when he said Sarah is staying on iPad today until he fired her.

He could put in sets fairly quickly, even move the equipment fast. Plumbing, A/C and electric is an easy four months from when they sign to completion. This is a ruse.

    2. We know he is a liar. But this should be for the best. This 800 Hellhole Place is rubbish.

Notice how Leo has gone from the Charming Cottage, to the impressive studio in a quaint downtown location to place like this.

This is a function of Lisa. This is the small town bookkeeper actually thinking an industrial park location is better because it is new and “more professional.” She’s fucked up. It’s Leo who is resisting this move because she wants to move to some soulless space which is what Leo was always trying to get away from. Why they cannot find a barn or some old building in the area TO BUY and build-out and OWN is a mystery. Petaluma is not Manhattan. They have no concept of anything.

This is right on. I agree.

  2. With it becoming spring, the weather will be nice so maybe they will do outdoor podcasts. Leo has said he wants to do pirate radio, how about pirate podcasts.

They could put up the sets in a parking lot and try to record the show before the police chase them off and then end the episodes with Yakety-Sax as Leo waddles around in sped up video.

  3. Lisa Laporte (nee Kuntsmell) is a master negotiator and overall master businessperson, I have nothing but faith in her that she will secure the best place in a timely fashion.

Apparently she wanted to buy the current property on Keller St., but Leo said “Honeybuns, I’m too old to buy real estate. I’d rather start collecting purses.”

  4. The whole point of the other studio was to put the noise, vibration, and heat producing equipment in the basement. There’s no basement here, right? There’s also no room for multiple studios so they’re back to the TWIT Cottage situation. With so much glass in front, it will be a real job to control lighting. I’d probably keep looking.

  5. The parking space should be fine under California law. This is a retail development which means that for every 1000 foot of gross space there is one parking space and for every 1000 foot of retail space (accessible space to the public) there is a further 2 parking spaces.

It may mean that his staff or visitors have to further away but technically there should be enough to meet estimated needs.

Maybe they can all carpool and squeeze into Tonya Hall’s car if there is room after she gets in and drags in her fucking scarf.

It’s a terrible location if it is located on the end of car park because it limits ingress and egress by vehicles and worse still, how will his minions get him his soup each Saturday and Sunday. Will they have to have a special pipeline developed to get the soup run underground to his feeding trough?

It’s also, as others have said, terrible for sound transmission from outside but I guess he’s past that and maybe realizes that it doesn’t matter too much since nobody really cares except for the idiots that lurk in the chat room that complain about birds in people’s yards or gardeners using blowers or trash trucks etc making noise.

His retail neighbors will get pissed off with having a priest chasing children around the car park with his pants off . They may not be quite as accepting especially if, as I expect, their own customers have to fight for parking spaces outside their own locations because the TWiT staff aren’t willing to walk from behind the building to the front and free up parking spaces nearby.

  6. Well this is interesting. In her egocentric blog post about why “she” created Art Is Anal Agency, Lisa Laporte claims that “Leo Laporte and I are the partners at TWiT.tv and Artisanal Agency”.

She’s a partner in Twit now? She owns part of the business?

Or is it, like the rest of the article, just another form of words intended to make her look like the person who’s really doing everything at Twit?

(Seriously. The article is nothing more than a list of “I created” and “I did” brags.)

    1. I noticed this too. I’ve never seen a CEO, Owner use the word I so much. It really stood out. Comes across like a kid bragging about some project they completed.

        1. What’s up with those eyes, they remind me of that demon woman in the movie The Devil’s Advocate (1997), the clothes shop scene when those two devil woman help (Charlize Theron) choose clothes O.o

  7. A couple of items to note:
1.) That place is not even ‘vanilla boxed.’ TWiT should receive a steep discount because plumbing, electrical, metal studs, drywall, lighting, and ceilings cost a lot to install if nothing has ever been put in prior to occupation.
2.) All that glass in the front and the side letting in all that light combined with the studio lights, servers, production computers, etc. equals lots of heat and does this place have adequate HVAC to handle all of those needs? Many of our retail locations in SanFran, Sonoma, LA, and SanDiego did not have AC because it was not needed except for a few weeks in the summer. I am not seeing any ducting, but Google Earth shows four units on top with spaces to add 8 more. I guess those will be at Leo and the CEhO’s expense.

In all, this does not look like it would be a good deal for anyone to lease or it would have already been snapped up by a tenant and finished. Maybe the property owner is desperate, but that is true of the current building when TWiT moved in and look what has happened now that part of town is popular.

And why is TWiT now chasing PixelCorp around Petaluma when Alex was ‘The Man’ sharing that wonderful studio with Leo? Is this part of town the place to be and we have not figured that out just yet? Inquiring minds trolling the chatroom and lurking on TotalDrama want to know!!!

      1. I have wondered that too, I missed that period as well, was doing other things than TWiT and TD. Maybe Alex was asked for more money and he ‘politely’ said fuck off!

  8. Other than the very quiet move of PixelCorp to 925 Lakeville Street, the only thing that I know is that Alex Lindsey has moved his family from Petaluma to the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Maybe the film industry is going to get hot again in Pennsylvania now that we have a democrat governor that could reinstate the movie industry tax credits???? Who knows.
