Is Megan Morrone a Closet Racist?

Megan Morrone is not known for her insightful commentary, wit, charm, or looks, but no one thought she was a racist. The seemingly well-adjusted mother (we heard that she’s a parent somewhere; can’t remember where) couldn’t keep her mouth shut on this week’s iOS Today.

Even King of the Gaffe Leo Laporte had to shut it down, saying “You’re really digging it deeper and deeper each time” as Megan continued explaining why it was OK to only feel compassion for terror victims with the same skin tone as yourself.

Sure, it’s not overt, and hopefully she won’t be the racist grandma calling the neighbor’s children racial epithets, but sometimes casual, systemic racism can be even worse. We hope Leo Laporte can help Megan Morrone be more racially sensitive in the future.

  1. She hates “people of all colors” but her “own kind” and Leo supports her 100%…making them both racists. Where are all the TWiT hosts with darker complexions. Where did the homosexual hosts disappear to?

  2. Megan is a racist but also correct, what would concern you more, your neighbor’s house being on fire or a house in the same city being on fire?

This Washington Post article lists numerous reasons why the Paris attacks got more publicity, and they are all valid and obvious but it’s too bad that Megan decided to show her true racist colors anyway:

  3. Most people are losing their shit over the non-issue in Paris, Megan included.

While she didn’t mean to, she at least said out loud why most people are so shocked by this relatively small number of casualties. It makes so much more sense than the ‘our oldest ally’ and capital of the world bullshit Leo repeatedly uses to justify the over coverage of the event. France isn’t your oldest ally, and if we had to pick a world capital it should be Rome or Athens.

  4. I hope the person who writes these posts gets what is coming to him. One day, I pray someone will put hate up all over the web insulting this person.

The cowards hide behind fake names. Just a bunch of genuinely sick people. The fact that they hide tells you everything. Do their mothers and wives know what kind of people they are?

    And I despise Leo.

    1. Patrick – I’m guessing this is a fake name? If not, please provide ypur full name and address and we will too.

Fuck you, douchebag. Megan deserves all the crap we give her. Plus more.

      1. Megan is an average looking woman with limited ability. She’s married and has kids. Like everyone else, she makes some gaffes. If, like me, you don’t like watching her, you don’t. End of story. But not for this crazy crew.

This group of misfits don’t have mothers or wives, at least not ones that haven’t long ago kicked them to the door. That’s why they are the way they are. But TD is interesting, because it’s like being a fly on the wall in a virtual dayroom of psycho-trolls and fucked-up miscreants. And anonymity provides the safety that is necessary when dealing with such a bunch. I’ve learned a lot from TD. This would be a gold mine for forensic psychiatrists. Someone should tell them about it.

        1. TotalDramaFan – My, my! Project much? You have no idea about our careers, marital status, etc. Instead, you trot out the same tired cliches that we must be a bunch of neanderthals who must worship at the TWIT altar.

You consider her racist comments a gaffe? Even #soup shut her down.

Oh, thanks for disclosing that Ms. Eyebrows is married and has kids. What a revelation! We’ve never heard that before.

  5. I don’t get this out pouring of love for France. What happened to the U. S hate for France. Calling the French smelly, pompous asses, cowards etc. and why did Obama order flags to be at half-staff? Did the French put their flags at half-staff after 9/11?

    1. It does ring hollow given how France was treated by the US in recent years. It’s just opportunism, I wouldn’t trust the well wishes after “Freedom Fries”.

    2. I’ve been thinking about “Freedom Fries” too. But they were the invention of a different president, the one who got us into this mess in the first place. Obama and others are trying, without success and quite possibly with a flawed strategy, to dig us out of the deep doo doo Cheney et al. and his ignoramus puppet have gotten us into.

  6. There was nothing racist about what Megan said. She just clumsily tried to explain why some people feel more empathy for people who look like themselves. That is a truthful statement about human nature, regrettable though it may be.

This is another example of TotalDrama making a mountain out of not-even-a-molehill. Just. So. Pathetic.

If you want to see racism, try #drama. The comments about Blacks there are 1000% worse than anything Megan said.

    1. I’m hoping that you’re joking, Lance. Because if you’re not joking, then we can only assume you don’t know how to read…because this blog has been nothing but supportive of “blacks” as you call them. We prefer the more dignified term “African-Americans.” And go ahead and tell me the last time that an African-American woman was on any show on TWiT. We’ll be waiting for your answer.

      1. African-American?

What a bullshit term, it’s only ever something-American. Nobody calls themselves an African-Briton and if they do they’ll be laughed off.

        Black is fine.
