Is It Still Just “One Ass”?

How Leo Laporte would like to be seen/remembered, not the Steve Bannon approximation we have today.

Once upon a time, Leo Laporte said that there was only person who thinks poorly of him and “trolls” him.

Editor’s Note: “Troll” means someone who disagrees with you and posts videos of you doing embarrassing things.

Is it really still that “one ass” who’s bothering Leo? We’re not so sure.

Have a look at the comments on LifeHacker’s article and podcast called How to Be a Tech Podcast God with Leo Laporte.

Full credit due to Alice Bradley on the sarcastic title. Good one!

Some of our favorite comments are below, but be sure to read the full comments section! Lisa Laporte’s empire really is falling down around her ankles.

  1. So, correct me if i am wrong, the person who wrote this post is making the claim it’s not just them trolling Laporte. Then continues to post pictures of comments made on this website to prove their point. Sorry, that does not prove all the main writers on this site are not one person.

  2. Even I who did not like what leo has done but wanted to keep up on things with twit decided this year i could not take it anymore. From the nobody guest he has on Twit now to talking about trump something i wanted to watch twit to get away from. When Tom left he took his list of guest with him. Most of the people that were friend with Tom will not do Twit anymore. Tom really needs to think about doing a sunday news show at the same time as twit.

  3. I get the gist of this, but…

This site used to have some great in-depth, behind the scenes reporting on the minutia of TWiT. Was there an inside source? Did he/she get fired, or have the writers gotten lazy?

  4. It looks like the TWiT “community” have started chiming in on Lifehacker, trying to neutralize all the bad comments with positive ones. We knew this was coming and it’s most likely the butthurt mods who would have no life (and no power to indiscriminately ban people) if TWiT ever closed down. One of them was like “well Sarah Lane posted a nice statement on her blog about them after she left”. RIGHT. A published statement is not going to be what she truly felt about the sick pervert and the way she was treated. A statement is something that is written to avoid retaliation and possible lawsuits. Have you ever left a bad job and then called out the company online using your real name? Get a fucking clue you retards! We saw the shit that happens inside those walls. TWiT probably made her sign a document preventing her from maligning them in any way whatsoever.

  5. Leo has tried to silence and ignore any and all feedback from the audience:

    – stopped using UserVoice for feedback
    – removed episode comment system from the website
    – no negative feedback allowed in twit’s chatroom
    – no live chat on YouTube

He pretends unhappy listeners are “trolls”. No, you actually ARE doing a shitty job and coming across as a lazy arrogant narcissist.

When you try to stifle people on the internet they route around you. TD is just a place for people who noticed and can’t un-see it.

So in the few places people can speak, this is what happens. The truth leaks out.

    1. Additionally, TWiT pretends they have “an engaging community”. This is a complete sham. TWiT is anything but engaging. They have a tightly controlled chatroom of a few sycophants and that is all.

  6. Oh, baby. How nice to see you? Did I ever tell you how often I’d stay late, high as a kite, as I stroked my anaconda while dreaming of your Snow White ass?

  7. I thought Leo had died or something, last time I asked Alexa to put TWiT Live on, Leo was suffering from flu. This was about a week ago.

Might want to get your flu shot buddy, older folks are way vulnerable and we wouldn’t want you dying on us now would we?

  8. About 5 or 6 years ago I was an avid TWIT listener. I had just lost my job of 25 years and I was a bit depressed. I used Leo’s network as a diversion. Then he started yapping more and more about how rich he was, how many vacations he was taking, new cars, new homes, etc. It was becoming very irritating, especially with my life situation. I decided to write Leo a letter (not an email, a genuine stamp-licked letter) suggesting nicely that he go easy on the bragging. I not only didn’t receive a reply, he stepped up his obnoxious behavior. I listened less and less at that point and when the tragedy of Erik Lannigan happened, I deleted my iPhone app, bookmarks and any other connections to Leo. The only way I hear about his antics these days is through this web site. I hope you keep it up to date because I rather enjoy it and relate to what everyone says. Keep up the good work.

    1. Agreed 100%. Your story is very close to how I became aware of Leo being a sociopath after years of listening. His publicly displayed sexual perversions and dissing of a good people like John C. Dvorak and Adam Curry pushed me over the edge.

The majority of the folks who visit this site share a similar story.

We’re all fans of TWiT, we long for the cottage days, where it was a bootstrap network that cared more about substantive content than the newest/latest/best tech product.

It’s cold blooded, but I blame Lisa. Leo has tuned out criticism since he got busted cheating on his wife. I think he’s afraid that if things get heated it’ll always revert back to that, so he cuts off before a guest has a chance to burn him.

Tom Merritt, Iyaz, Dvorak, Curry…Those people wouldn’t put up with his BS, and one day they may have called him out for being a cheat or a dick pic horn dog, and Leo can’t have that.

We make fun of millennial all of the time, but the geriatrics, the crowd that largely consumes TWiT content, would be appalled to learn that Leo cheated on his wife, drive his daughter insane, and shared dick pics and sexts with his audience.

  9. If Trump is impeached, is there growing interest in a Pence/PI Jarvis ticket? Can one be both VP and a leading netcaster?
