Putting millions of dollars into a seven year lease was really stupid, who is CEO? Math, it would have been much cheaper to buy. A business can’t afford to do a buildout every seven years. Get a twenty year mortgage and you own a building at the end instead of being left with nothing.
True, but If you pay someone $500 to repaint the studio every day it is also deductible, that doesn’t mean it’s a good business decision. Spending $500 to get a $500 deduction to save ~$200 in taxes.
Saving tax by throwing money in the garbage is not a wise move. Renting in this case was D.U.M. The money to build the place up goes in the garbage after 7 years whereas if you own the studio you have it until you cease operations. They can relocate cameras and stuff but alot will need to be junked.
