For years now their standard fare is a practically Alex Jones level of disregard for reality. Having a contrary opinion doesn't mean it's likely to be right. Sewing together anomalies and anecdotes doesn't make a compelling case. And being in turn dismissed out of hand doesn't mean you are persecuted. When your world view defines "what's really going on" as being something secretive and hidden that no one can fully expose, and contrary indications can always be dismissed as part of the conspiracy, then you have set up a tautological system. As more time goes by, everything will fit into that system, and it will always seem right, regardless of what the facts might really be. Just pick something fringe that you don't believe in (bigfoot? Alien abductions? Homeopathy?). There are people who have so thoroughly mis-wired their world view that it is in practice impossible to reach them. Past a certain point, there's no benefit in continuing to argue with people who refuse to honestly and frequently pose themselves the questions "If I was wrong about this, how could I find out? What would convince me?" Humans evolved for survival to assemble patterns and infer motivations, whether they exist or not. Instead of seeking to confirm, seek to refute yourself. Always treat your own beliefs as if they might be mistaken. It's the only way to claw your way out of the biased quagmire of mentality evolution saddled you with. -- ~ferrix
